FAQ
I accept orders 1 year in advance. Most people book my services 3-6 months before the wedding date. With that said, I sometimes can accommodate last minute orders, just call or email me to check my availability.
Yes! I would love to meet with you for a consultation. However, I do require a weeks notice. We can meet at my showroom in Ewa beach. As weekends are my busiest times, I have limited availability for consultations on Saturdays or Sundays, and those consultations will be worked around my deliveries for that day. I do however offer evening appointments in Ewa Beach.
If you want to order sample cake/s I can accommodate, however as a custom cake maker I do not have cakes ready made for tastings, so need to bake cakes especially for you which I am happy to do. I give one sample cake free which is a mini cake and you take the leftovers home, each whole cake consists of one filling and one cake flavor per cake. I charge $15 for each additional sample cake you choose and you get to take the cakes with you. You can order up to 3 cakes for your tasting including the complimentary cake. For flavor choices take a look at my Flavors and Pricing page.
Below are some of my most popular flavor combinations:
- The tropical tango.. a vanilla cake with lilikoi mousse and fresh mango.
- The lemon blackberry… a vanilla cake filled with a lemon cream and fresh blackberries.
- The raspberry truffle cake … a devils food cake filled with dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries
- The strawberry shortcake… a vanilla cake filled with whipped cream and sliced strawberries.
I will need to know your flavor choices by 3 days before our scheduled appointment please
Please note that sample cakes are for sampling purposes only and for clients who are planning on ordering a wedding cake. I do not make or sell these cakes for any other purpose.
I work exclusively in home made buttercream cakes because I believe they taste so much better than Fondant. My cakes can be displayed outdoors, but the cake must be in a solid tent or a covered Lanai. If you plan on a clear top tent, we recommend the cake be delivered as late as possible, or a market umbrella should be provided for the cake table. The cake cannot be placed in direct sunshine. The cake is fine to be on display for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for an outdoor wedding but no longer than that. We usually deliver right at the end of the cocktail hour.
I do make sheet cakes, but only once a 4 tier or larger cake is ordered. My sheet cakes are plainly iced on top and will yield 80 wedding size pieces. They are priced at $125. I do not make cupcakes, as my focus is entirely on custom wedding cakes.
I will do Styrofoam tiers when making a very large cake, but not for smaller cakes, because surprisingly the polystyrene dummies used actually cost more than actual cake! So you may as well have real cake!
Yes, we deliver all of our cakes and do not offer a pickup option. The price for delivery ranges from $35-$100 depending on the distance traveled.
Not necessarily. This really depends on if other desserts are being offered, if so I suggest a 75% ratio to guests. If you are planning on having the guests come up and get cake, this ratio would also apply. If however you are having the cake placed in front of each guest, then yes, you would need cake for everyone regardless of whether they eat it or not.
Yes! Although quoted prices are based on the same flavor in each tier. Additional flavors are charged at $50 for each additional flavor combination.
Not usually, however it really depends on the situation. Please keep in mind my cakes start at $250 so this would need to be within your budget for a birthday cake. Often a birthday cake with a particular theme that incorporates hand made sugar decorations requires much more work than, say a wedding cake with fresh flowers. So please keep this in mind when considering my services for a birthday cake as the price will reflect the amount of work needed to create the cake.
No, these things are usually provided by the client or the reception venue.
